I finished this watercolor last Wednesday. I took the original photo last summer--that's one of Mom's flowers. The water drops took a while to finish, but I love the way they turned out! I found a Strathmore 9x12 180 lb. pad (no, it doesn't weigh 180 lbs.! ;) laying around and decided to try it. Generally I'm prejudiced against lighter weight paper since it always buckles, but this worked out fine for a quick project. What I really want to try is some Arches 300 lb.! Except, that would kill my wallet :) Since this only took me two afternoons, I'll probably try a few more, and include a background wash.
